Dadra Nagar Haveli (DNH), a union territory of India, is governed by the Central Government of India. An Administrator, who is the Head of the Union Territory of DNH, is appointed by the President of India.

He/She is also the Secretary – Home (including Police, Fire, and Services & Prisons), Personnel & Administrative Reforms, Information & Publicity and Vigilance and also the Inspector General of Police for DNH.

The Secretariat at Silvassa is the head quarter of the administration.

There are 72 villages (including Silvassa and Amli) in DNH. It forms a single district and single taluka Union Territory.

The villages have been grouped together to form 11 Patelads and 11 village Panchayats with elected members. The representatives from various Panchayats form the district Panchayat.

The members have certain powers of administration at local level under Panchayat Rules. The UT has one Lok Sabha constituency and no legislature.
